Abstract
We have carefully measured the Raman scattering and infrared absorption spectra of the C-N stretching region of K2Pt(CN)4Br0.3 3H2O. The expected polarization differences between B1g and B2g modes were observed along with a large frequency splitting between the modes. We attribute this frequency splitting to significant differences in the environment of the two platinum sites in the crystallographic unit cell.
