Abstract

This report describes the DCIA perforator flap, which can be considered as a perforator variant of the DCIA or Rubens flap. An extensive skin territory can be transferred based on a DCIA perforator with a long pedicle. The flap has a very wide arc of rotation as a pedicled flap for reconstruction of defects around the thigh, the lower abdomen, and the genitalia. The disadvantages of this flap could include the inconsistent presence of a reliable perforator and the difficulty of dissection for an inexperienced surgeon.
