Abstract

A new quassinoid, dehydrobruceantinol B (1), was isolated from the seeds of Brucea javanica, together with two known compounds, bruceantinol (2) and bruceine A (3). The structure of the new compound 1 was elucidated by advanced spectrometric methods, including HR-MS, UV, IR, 1D and 2D NMR experiments. The inhibitory effects of 1–3 on nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-activated macrophages were also investigated in this study.
