Abstract

To the Editor: Burrows and Kelton (July 21 issue)* did not mention obtaining titers of antinuclear antibodies, lupus anticoagulant, or anticardiolipin antibody for their patients. Did they leave this information out purposely, or were these tests not done? The importance of these and other tests, such as that for anti-Ro antibody, in identifying mothers and infants at risk for systemic lupus erythematosus is well known.
