N2 - RNA-binding proteins are involved in various aspects of RNA metabolism such as processing, translational control, stabilization, localization and transport. Many of these proteins bind several RNA targets and have multiple functions. In this review we focus on RNA-binding proteins that are implicated in RNA transport and localization and that also have a role in other aspects of RNA metabolism. These proteins might link nuclear events, such as RNA splicing, with the subsequent cytoplasmic localization of specific transcripts.
