Abstract

We need to consider a public health perspective in dealing with diabetes and obesity. The 10 essential public strategies provide dietitians with ideas for collaboration and partnering to develop action plans in their own practice setting. In addition, the American Dietetic Association and its state and local associations can use the public health strategies in planning activities to address diabetes and concomitant obesity epidemics.
