Abstract

Summary: We report the hematologic and invasive electrophysiologic management of a 12-year-old boy with mild hemophilia A (factor VIII deficiency) and atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia. Thoughtful preparation with detailed input from the patient's comprehensive hemophilia center combined with vigilant pericatheterization hematologic management allowed for safe and successful cryoablation of this arrhythmia. Strategies for the management of patients with bleeding disorders who require invasive cardiac catheterization or surgery are reviewed.
