Abstract
Long-acting reversible contraceptive use by adolescents has increased in the past decade. Awareness of complications and common problems encountered with subdermal contraceptive implant and intrauterine device (IUD) use is essential for provision of optimal contraceptive management for adolescent patients. The provision of levonorgestrel IUDs for medically complex patients may assist with both contraceptive management and treatment of their medical conditions.
