Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Orthopedic surgery is often elective, which offers time for presurgical preparation. The physical stress of surgery places demands on muscle, cartilage, and bone, the very tissues orthopedic surgery aims to heal. This chapter explains which herbal products should be discontinued before surgery. It reviews preprocedural fasting guidelines and safe preoperative weight reduction.
