Abstract

The biological distribution and kinetics of (99m)Tc labeled tetracycline were studied in rabbits and dogs. The kidneys and gallbladder showed the highest concentration. Autoradiography and dissection of the kidneys revealed preferential uptake by the renal cortex. Excellent static and dynamic images of the kidneys and gallbladder were obtained in both species. These results encourage clinical evaluation of various pathologic conditions of the urinary and hepatobiliary systems by this technique.
