Abstract
This paper aimed to analyse the routes by Toxicology to find its place in the scientific world. Thus, a sequence was structured in order to present from the origins of this knowledge up to the formulation of an initial paradigm. Futhermore, this paper addresses the various perspectives comprehended by the current toxicology paradigm and the future challenges to be faced, taking into consideration the increasing complexity of the civilization process.
