abstract = "High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) results in instantaneous coagulative tissue necrosis. In contrast, {"}low{"} energy focused ultrasound (LOFU) induces membrane perturbation while maintaining cell viability. This report explores the tumor immunomodulatory roles of LOFU and HIFU combination treatment. We hypothesized that administration of repeated cycles of LOFU, followed by HIFU would release tumor-derived peptide-heat shock protein complexes in the blood and induce systemic tumor-specific immune response that would enhance tumor control of both local and systemic disease.",
