Extreme bilirubinemia in hepatitis A associated with G6PD-deficiency

Abstract

In patients with G6PD-deficiency and hepatitis A infection, the clinical picture can resemble fulminant hepatitis. We describe 2 patients with this association. Bilirubin concentrations were over 50 mg/dl in both, but they recovered completely.
