A variety of cardioactive agents have been shown to affect the pharmacokinetics of digoxin and thereby alter serum digoxin levels. Since the first reports describing the digoxin-quinidine interaction,1,2 numerous agents have been shown to increase serum digoxin levels.3-6 Milrinone is a nonglycoside, noncatecholamine inotropic agent currently undergoing investigation for the treatment of congestive heart failure.
