Abstract
We showed that large patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial anatomy favoring paradoxical embolization are associated with septal aneurysm, which may explain the significant association of septal aneurysm and PFO with stroke. In addition, warfarin and aspirin were equally effective in preventing stroke, with no increased event rate.
