Abstract

On page 50 of this article, a passage gives the impression that BenMAP modeling is limited to Ostro, Lipsett, Mann, Braxton-Owens, and White (2001) based on the following report: https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015–04/documents/benmap-ce_user_manual_march_2015.pdf Our intention in citing Ostro et al. (2001) was limited to modeling of asthma exacerbations from fine particulate matter, not BenMAP writ large. A subsequent inquiry revealed that estimates from Ostro et al. 2001 were pooled with those from a second study by Mar, Koenig, and Primomo (2010), as noted in a separate report: https://www3.epa.gov/ttnecas1/regdata/RIAs/finalria.pdf We apologize for the unintentional mischaracterization of BenMAP, and note that this does not change the findings of this paper.
