Abstract
Background: Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is one of the most common causes of maternal morbidity and mortality. Uterine tamponade has emerged as a simple and effective means in the management of massive intractable PPH not controlled by other medical methods, especially when radical surgical methods should best be avoided and preservation of fertility is desired. Cases: Two cases of massive PPH that were managed with condom catheter balloon are described. Conclusions: This management technique helped in avoiding cesarean hysterectomy for young patients.
