Abstract
Since an encyclopedic review of all agents used by teenagers in the pharmacopeia is not possible, the reader is assigned the taks of vigilant and continuous surveillance of this ever changing discipline. The critical elements in clinical pharmacology specifically related to adolescents encompass several biologic and psychosocial factors. The utilization of modern drug monitoring techniques by the adolescent's physician is essential to transform this acient art into a modern science. It is the only way one can avoid a modern version of the debacle sustained by Charles the Second at the hands of his physicians.
