Abstract

Advances in imaging technology during the last 20 years has brought new applications to supplement the use of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal pathology. This chapter will discuss and illustrate the use of magnetic resonance imaging cholangiopancreatography, CT colonography, the imaging and interventional treatment of acute and chronic mesenteric ischemia and acute gastrointestinal bleeding.
